Doha, 12 November 2019. Aspire Academy is hosting the latest Tri-Series tournament comprising generations 2005, 2006 and 2007 of the 2015 and involving Turkish club Altinordu S.K. and Russian side Zenit St Petersburg. On the opening day’s matches played on Monday 11th November evening, hosts Aspire played handsomely to draw against Altinordu in the 2005 and 2006 age groups with 1-1 and 2-2 results respectively.
In the 2005 match, Aspire scored first through Abdelrahaman Ahmed in the first half only for the visitors to equalize close to the end of the game. In the 2006 generation encounter Aspire scored through Ali Alqhtani and Dekhayel Al Hamad. This time round it was Aspire who trailed going into the second. The search for parity paid off when Al Hamad equalize on 47th minute. In the 2007 generation, Altinordu prevailed over the Aspire Academy who did well to score twice when it looked like a heavy defeat was on the cards. Day 2 of the Tri-series will see Zenit St Petersburg play Altinordu before Aspire clashes with Zenit St Petersburg on the final day of the tournament-Day 3 on Wednesday 13 November 2019.
