ASPIRE GRADUATE ABUBAKER HAYDAR QUALIFIES FOR 2020 SUMMER OLYMPICS

Doha, 5 May 2019. In course of the Doha 2019 IAAF Diamond League meeting in the Qatari capital on Friday, May 3, Aspire Academy graduate Abubakar Haydar finished 4th in the 800m event in 1:44.82 and thereby successfully achieved the qualifying standard (1:45.20) for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

For the 22-year-old Qatari middle distance runner, Tokyo is going to be the second Olympics after his participation in Rio 2016.
