Milan, 11 December 2019. Aspire Football Dreams (AFD) graduate and former K.A.S Eupen defender, Moussa Wague made his European Champions League debut for Barcelona FC against Inter Milan at San Siro Stadium on Tuesday 10th December acquitting himself well on the night. The former pupil at the Senegal based Aspire Football Dreams Academy put on a strong performance playing in the right-back position where his offensive and defensive play shone. Wague made four significant tackles and one interception. He did a commendable job against Inter’s Cristiano Biraghi. The Senegal International even completed take-ons and had a go at goal with two shots and got involved in attack, too. His achieved a passing accuracy rate of 83%, a contribution to Barcelona’s 2-1 win on the night. This was Barcelona's first win away at Inter in any European competition since September 1959.
Wague was at AFD from 2014 to 2016 and during his time played for Senegal in the junior categories before he played for the Senegal national team when he was playing in the Belgian Jupiler-Pro League for the ASPIRE ZONE FOUNDATION owned side KAS Eupen. After 43 matches for the Belgian team, he joined Barça B in the summer of 2018, just after the 2018 FIFA World Cup- Russia.
