19 Jun 2016

Nitra, 19 June 2016. Current Aspire Academy student athlete and high jumper Nuh Abdulkadir Andu cleared 2.16 m to qualify for the forthcoming World Junior Athletics Championships to be held this year in Poland, 19-24 July. Andu’s jump that met the qualifying standard was achieved at the Slovak Junior Championships in Nitra, at the weekend of 18-19 June 2016 in Slovakia. Andu even made it a more memorable weekend of success by jumping a personal best of 6,96m in long jump.

Andu’s achievement is the latest to give credence to the Aspire Academy Athletics program which develops talented athletes, selected in partnership with the Qatar Athletic Federation and through the Aspire Academy Talent Identification program. Andu’s coach Lubos Benko was thrilled for his protégé who he believes is a promising athlete with a bright future ahead of him.  “Andu has finally got the performance he deserved for the hard work he puts into his training. This achievement is a result of team effort from Aspire Academy and Qatar Athletics Federation and it’s pleasing to see positive rewards of this co-operation”, said Benko.
