Representatives from the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), Majed Al-Mansouri and Majd Al -Shibli, visited Aspire Academy to talk to our student-athletes and answer their questions about the upcoming World Cup and fans experiences during the vent.
As well as highlighting what Qatar will be offering from a football perspective the SC explained there would be a lot more on offer to both visiting football supporters and residents – including cultural events and sightseeing.
Our visitors invited the student-athletes who have any special talents to come forward and volunteer to show-off their skills to the world.
The student-athletes were encouraged to make the most of the World Cup not just by heading to the stadia but by going to the other events being organised alongside the tournament.
With people arriving from around the world it was down to everyone to highlight the hospitality of Qatar and portray the very best the country has to offer.
They also explained that this was an ideal opportunity for Qataris to learn about other cultures and customs.
The event also offered more details on how the stadia built around the country are not just part of the World Cup but are an investment for the future which will enable even more sporting events to be hosted in Qatar. They added that several stadia will be modified after the World Cup in order for them to be used more effectively and that any elements, such as seats for example, that removed will be donated to help improve venues in less privileged countries.
There is due to be further information disseminated by the SC in the coming weeks on things such as security during the World Cup and how hosting the event will enrich life in Qatar.
