26 Oct 2023

Izmir: Aspire Academy’s footballing student-athletes are spending their half-term break in the Turkish city of Izmir on a training camp.

A total of 167 student-athletes from all six grades along with coaches and other members of staff left Qatar on 20 October and will return on the 31st.

As well as their daily coaching sessions they will also play a series of matches against local Turkish teams.

These training camps are a key part of the student-athletes' development at Aspire Academy as they learn to play in different environments and can measure themselves against teams from different parts of the world.

It also introduces the younger student-athletes to spending time away from friends and family as they develop their own interpersonal skills.

Away from playing football they also get the chance to experience different cultures and meet others from different backgrounds.
