ASPIRE ACADEMY ORGANISES PARENTS' MEETING TO STRENGTHEN COLLABORATION AND SUPPORT FOR STUDENT-ATHLETES

25 Nov 2024

Aspire Academy has successfully hosted its second parents' meeting of the academic year, designed to foster stronger collaboration between the Academy and the families of its student-athletes. These regular meetings are a key part of Aspire’s ongoing commitment to ensuring a balanced and supportive environment for its student-athletes, both academically and athletically.

Held on campus, the meeting saw a remarkable turnout of parents and family members who engaged with academic staff and sports coaches to discuss their children’s progress and tackle any difficulties they are facing. The event allowed the parents to gain insights into their children’s development and highlight specific needs to ensure continued growth in both academics and sports.

Aspire Academy's school Vice Principal, Dr. Issa Issa AlMoslemani, commented:
"We place great importance on communicating with parents to discuss their children’s performance, especially as the final exams approach. Our goal is to provide parents with a clear understanding of their children’s achievements and the challenges they may face. We also aim to meet student-athlete students' needs in managing their time effectively during the exam period to offer appropriate support for them as well as their parents."

Aspire's academic and coaching teams provided detailed feedback on the progress of each student-athlete, highlighting areas for improvement. Special emphasis was placed on the unique challenges faced by student-athletes, where balancing intensive sports training with academic success requires tailored support and ongoing collaboration between the Academy and families.

Mohammed Awad, the father of Laith, a seventh-grade track and field student-athlete, emphasized the importance of attending these meetings. He noted that these sessions helped him better understand his son’s academic and athletic development, providing an excellent opportunity to receive the guidance and support necessary to enhance his son’s strengths and improve his performance.

Parents of elite athletes engaged in detailed discussions with teachers and coaches, focusing on maintaining students’ well-being amid demanding training schedules as they also strive for academic success.

Osama Mohammed’s mother, whose son is a tenth-grade student, shared her perspective:
"This meeting provided an opportunity to understand my son’s academic and behavioural progress. Today, I felt tremendous support and effort, reaffirming that my son is progressing academically and athletically under the care of a dedicated institution that prioritizes his guidance."

This event underscores Aspire Academy's dedication to building strong partnerships with families to ensure that student-athletes excel in all aspects of their development and continue achieving success both on and off the field.
