Aspire Academy took the chance to highlight the wide variety of career options it can offer youngsters at the Qatar Career Development Center’s (QCDC) fifth edition of its Career Village.

The Career Village, organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) and KidZania Doha, is designed to foster a career-oriented culture among high school students in Qatar.

More than 1600 high school students from 91 schools across Qatar took part in the unique and engaging Career Village, which ran from 29 April to 1 May and was hosted at KidZania Doha in Aspire Park.

The Aspire Academy booth offered insights from the Sports and Education Departments on the kinds of careers that youngsters could pursue that fit their interests and passions.

Coaches from the Sports Department set up several activities making use of technology to measure things such as speed, height, power and strength. This showcased the diverse opportunities available in sports coaching, especially at institutions like Aspire Academy.

On the final day of the event, teachers from the Aspire school and student-athletes were on hand to help guide youngsters through the careers that best suit their interests.

Abdulla Al-Mansoori, the Executive Director of QCDC, expressed his appreciation for Aspire Academy’s participation in the event.

“We are really honoured to have Aspire Academy among the participants and would like to thank you for their important role here,” he said.

“You have always played a big role in clarifying future options for our students, sons, and daughters.”

“Many people think Aspire Academy is only about sport, but the message you sent today to everyone was that Aspire Academy is both about sports and education.

“It’s an Academy that prepares its students for the future in different sporting fields and different professions.”

Aspire’s school Vice Principal, Issa Al-Moslemani, reiterated the importance of the Academy raising awareness of its work and highlighting the variety of career paths available to students.

“We were keen that our participation explained and clarified to our visitors the different departments of the academy,” he explained.

“It gave us a chance to help them find out about the jobs and careers we offer.”

Khalid Yassin, Master Teacher ART at Aspire, was pleased to have the opportunity to highlight the Academy's work.

“We met with many young students from different schools and explained to them about Aspire Academy and raising awareness about all academy departments through videos and quizzes,” he said.

“We explained to them about the specialities and job opportunities we have.”

“It allowed us to provide some tailored sports activities along with leadership programme skills and how we introduce values and learnings through games.

“The visitors were helped to find out about their educational orientations and university career options via some computer quizzes that helped guide them to choose a relevant university course.”
