Doha, 14 November 2019. This November 14 to 19, the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), that was established in 2009 by Qatar Foundation under the leadership of its Chairperson, Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, celebrates education and learning at the “Doha Learning Days”.
This year, Aspire Academy joined the group of over 2,000 educators, decision-makers, and influential experts from the public and private sectors from over 100 countries, who gather in Doha for engaging plenaries, dialogues, debates, and tailored networking sessions to reimagine and build the future of education.
The involvement of Aspire Academy involves two days of hosting workshops to share knowledge with the teaching community in Qatar. On Thursday, November 14, ten workshops on education strategies took place at the Academy, where knowledge in subjects such as “Interactive videos”, “Teachers as facilitators”, “ESL Learning Strategies”, “Writing Strategies”, or “Co-operative Learning” was shared by Aspire staff with fellow local and also international education specialists.
Michal Malinowski, Founder and Director of the “Storytelling Museum” in Konstancin-Jeziorna came all the way from Poland to participate in the workshops in Aspire. “I am very interested in educational systems and in designing programs for schools, and for me the topics that were offered were very attractive. There was a great energy among the presenters and participants and subjects such as well-being in education are very popular these days, so it’s always good to hear different approaches on it. Overall, I am very happy that I decided to take the trip to Qatar.”
“It’s a rewarding experience for all of us at Aspire to collaborate with WISE and to be part of the Doha Learning Days. We are happy to welcome teachers, coordinators and directors from local international and government schools to our workshops today and the high number of registered participants, 240, shows the huge interest of the local education community in further developing their skills”, says Dr. Akram Emar, Master Teacher at Aspire Academy.
As part of the collaboration with the “Doha Learning Days”, Aspire Academy is offering another session on the role of the mind in education on November 19.
