ASPIRE ACADEMY HOSTS GLOBAL SUMMIT ON FOOTBALL PERFORMANCE AND SCIENCE IN DOHA

06 Oct 2019

Doha, 6 October 2019. From October 7 to 9, 2019 Aspire Academy is hosting the 5th edition of the “Aspire Academy Global Summit” on Football Performance and Science and is thereby gathering football experts from all over the world representing 50 elite clubs and federations. After previously hosting the event at iconic locations in Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam and London, this is the first time, Aspire Academy is bringing the “Aspire in the World Fellows” to Doha.

“We always thought of football performance as a lively, vibrant topic that the people who work in this field are enthusiastic about. We felt that there was the need to give these experts a stage to share this passion,” explains Valter di Salvo, Director of Football Performance and Science at Aspire Academy. This observation put the wheels in motion to build bridges between 50 Clubs and Federations from all continents in order to establish a community, the “Aspire in the World Fellows”, in 2014 and thereby create the world’s richest platform of content in the field of football performance.

Over the three days, the delegations representing prestigious clubs such as FC Liverpool, Manchester United (England), Paris Saint-Germain (France), Juventus (Italy), FC Barcelona (Spain), Ajax (Netherlands), Benfica (Portugal) as well as federations like France, Italy, South Korea or Mexico will be discussing topics such as “Optimizing the recovery process in youth players” (Topic 1), “Growth and maturation: how does it inform training” (Topic 2) and “Understanding the game: key to developing our players” (Topic 3).

Furthermore, Aspire Academy invited recognized personalities from the world of international football to share their knowledge with the delegates: Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino will be conducting a “Master Class” on Day 1; Qatar National Team Head Coach Felix Sanchez and former Argentinian star player Hernan Crespo will be featured in the “Star Chats” on Day 2 and on the final day of the event former Iceland National Team coach Heimir Hallgrimsson and former Fulham-manager Slavisa Jokanovic are going to share their experience.
