Aspire Academy celebrates National DayDoha, Qatar, 16 December 2013: Aspire Academy celebrated the Qatar National Day on Monday by holding a number of celebratory events which were attended by the Academy’s student athletes and staff. The Aspire Academy family was joined by Doha residents in an atmosphere of joy and happiness.
The ceremony began with the Qatari National Anthem and verses from the Holy Quran recited by a student from the Academy. This was followed by an introductory message delivered by Mr Badr Jassim Al-Hay, Director of Education and Student Care, who welcomed the students and staff in attendance. Mr Al-Hay also congratulated Qatar and its citizens on this celebratory occasion and paid tribute to Qatar’s founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed al Thani.
Mr Al-Hay also congratulated HH the Emir Tamim Bin Hamad Al -Thani and HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa al Thani on behalf of all students and staff at the Aspire Academy, and wished him success in all his national endeavors.
Mr. Al-Hay subsequently called on the attendees to witness the cake-cutting event and to enjoy the authentic Qatari food and Arabic coffee on offer at the ceremony. He also thanked the team responsible for organizing the National Day ceremony led by Mr Saeed Srour, Head of Dormitory at Aspire Academy.
During the celebrations, the participants enjoyed an ‘Ardha’ dance performed in the authentic Qatari style; a motorcycle parade drove around the outdoor pitches to mark this occasion the participants also took pictures of the falcons and henna artists displaying their crafts at the ceremony.
To conclude the celebrations, members of the audience were presented with a number of gifts, including Qatari flags and pictures of HH the Emir which immortalize the 18th of December as a day of solidarity and loyalty. Happy National Day and may Qatar continue to prosper in peace and love.
