Abdulla Al Tamimi has climbed back into the top 20 in the latest Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Rankings after winning a third consecutive title on home soil.
The Aspire Academy graduate beat Colombia’s Juan Camilo Vargas 3-1 in the final of the QSF 5 event at the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex.
Al Tamimi’s win saw him earn enough points from the PSA Challenger event to climb from 21 on the global rankings to number 18.
Not only has Al Tamimi now won three consecutive events on home soil but he’s also now tallied 10 PSA Tour titles in his career.
Aspire Academy graduate Abdulla Al Tamimi’s victory at the recent QSF 4 event on home soil in Qatar saw him reach a new career high on the Professional Squash Association’s (PSA) world rankings.
His win at October’s QSF 4 tournament, a PSA bronze-level event, had seen him reach a career-high number 16 in the world before dropping the rankings in recent weeks.
“Praise be to God. Thanks to everyone for the support and encouragement. What is coming is better God willing,” Al Tamimi published on social media following his victory.
Al Tamimi’s next major event is set to be the J.P. Morgan Tournament Of Champions 2024 in New York from 17-25 January.
