Abdulla Al-Tamimi Defeated in the Doha Bank PSA Challenger 2012 Semi-finals

Aspire Academy Qatari student Abdulla Al-Tamimi was defeated in the Doha Bank PSA Challenger 2012 semifinals last week after surrendering to the talented Egyptian Ahmed Hawas in a close fought 4 games. Al-Tamimi played well in the semi-finals but lost after being 14-12 down. Earlier in the day, Al-Tamimi impressed after beating the Jordan number one Ahmad Alzabidi in five games. Advancing to the quarters, Al-Tamimi smashed Egyptian qualifier Ahmed Atef Abdel-Fattah in four games. Other Aspire students Abdulwahab Al-Ishaq, Sadam Mehawesh and Faisal Masoud Al-Marri all lost in the first round of the qualification. Azlan Amjad had a walkover in the first round of the qualification. Although he lost in the second round to his senior opponent James Simpson, he gained his first world senior professional ranking points.
