ASPIRE STUDENT ATHLETE SAOUD AL HUMAIDI HOLDS HIS OWN IN 110M HURDLES FINAL AT U-18 WORLDS

Nairobi, Kenya 16 July 2017. Aspire Academy student athlete, Saoud Al Humaidi capped a debut appearance at the IAAF Athletics U-18 World Championships in Kenya with great performance that saw him reach the 110m hurdles final. Al Humaidi breezed through the qualifiers to take his place 8 men final as the only athlete from the Gulf region. Al Humaidi was first in heat 4 and took 4th place in the semi-final before clocking 13.73 seconds to finish six in the final race won with a championship record by De’jour Russell of Jamaica.
Speaking after the race Saoud Al Humaidi said, “It was a tough final against some to top hurdlers but l am pleased to have given of my best and competed well. All the hard work and preparations of this past few months has paid off and l am grateful to my coaches and staff at Aspire Academy who have worked with me throughout. Making the IAAF Athletics U-18 World Championships 110m hurdles has spurred me onto seek more finals in future”
